LORE is a body of knowledge, beliefs, and customs that are passed down orally from one generation to the next. CUSTOM is a habitual PRACTICE or behavior that is followed by a particular group or society. HABIT is a settled or regular tendency or PRACTICE, especially one that is hard to give up. ORAL refers to something that is spoken or communicated by word of mouth.
