An EPODE is a type of lyric poem consisting of two parts, an opening statement followed by a response. It is usually written in a dactylic meter and often has a strong emotional tone. A rondel is a type of lyric poem consisting of fourteen lines divided into two stanzas of seven lines each. The first and second lines of the first stanza are repeated as the last two lines of the second stanza. It is usually written in a rhyming couplet and often has a light-hearted tone.
