KNIFE is a sharp-edged tool used for cutting, while STAB is to thrust a pointed object into something. CUT is to make an opening, incision, or wound in something with a sharp instrument, while INSULT is to say or do something that causes offense or humiliation. GASH is a deep, jagged CUT, while HARM is to cause physical or emotional injury to someone or something. HURT is to cause physical or emotional pain or suffering, while MAIM is to INJURE someone or something severely. SLASH is to CUT or tear something with a quick, vigorous stroke, while BRUISE is an injury to the soft tissue of the body without breaking the skin. COILED is to form into a spiral shape, while INJURE is to cause physical HARM or damage to someone or something. LESION is an area of tissue damage or abnormality, while reeled is to move unsteadily or dizzily. SNAKED is to move in a winding or curving path, while TRAUMA is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.
