The Cascades, e.g. is a mountain RANGE located in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. It stretches from British Columbia in Canada to Northern California in the United States. The RANGE is composed of several smaller mountain ranges, including the Coast Mountains, the Olympic Mountains, and the Cascade RANGE. The RANGE is known for its spectacular scenery, with many of its peaks reaching over 10, 000 feet in elevation. The Cascades are also home to some of the most active volcanoes in the world, including Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier. The RANGE can be referred to by its two-letter abbreviation, RGE, or its three-letter abbreviation, MTS.
