Football fouls are a set of rules that govern the sport of football. HOLDING is a foul in which a player grabs or holds onto another player in order to impede their movement. CLIP is a foul in which a player blocks an opponent from behind, usually at or below the waist. Offside is a foul in which a player is in a position closer to the opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent. All of these fouls can result in a penalty for the offending team.
