Zeno of Elea was a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher who lived in the 5th century BCE. He is best known for his paradoxes, which were used to challenge accepted notions of space, time, and motion. He was born in Elea, an ancient Greek city in southern Italy, and is considered one of the founders of the Eleatic school of philosophy. His most famous paradox is known as 'Achilles and the Tortoise, ' which states that a tortoise can never be overtaken by a runner, no matter how fast the runner is.
