Writer Ann BEATTIE is an American novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter. She is best known for her 1975 collection of short stories, 'Chilly Scenes of Winter, ' which was adapted into a movie in 1982. BEATTIE has been awarded numerous awards, including the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in Short Fiction and the Rea Award for the Short Story. She has also been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
