Writer Anita LOOS was an American screenwriter, playwright, and novelist. She is best known for her 1925 novel 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' and the screenplay for the 1932 film adaptation. LOOS was one of the first women to become a successful Hollywood screenwriter and was the first female writer to be admitted to the Screen Writers Guild. She wrote over thirty plays and more than twenty films, and was nominated for an Academy Award for her work on the film 'San Francisco'.
