The Hague is the site of the World Court, also known as the International Court of Justice. It is located in the Netherlands and is the main judicial organ of the United Nations. The court is responsible for settling legal disputes between states and for providing advisory opinions on international legal issues. The court is composed of 15 judges who are elected by the UN General Assembly and Security Council for nine-year terms. The Hague is also home to the International Criminal Court, which is a separate body from the World Court.
