Ezer Weizman was the seventh President of Israel, serving from 1993 to 2000. He was a former Israeli Air Force commander and a member of the Labor Party. Weizman was known for his outspokenness and his willingness to take risks for peace. He was also a strong advocate for the Oslo Accords, which sought to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Weizman's presidency was marked by a number of diplomatic successes, including the signing of the Wye River Memorandum in 1998.
