Ajax is a warrior of legend from Greek mythology. He was the son of Telamon and the leader of the Salaminian contingent during the Trojan War. He was known for his strength and courage in battle, and was often described as being the greatest of all the Achaean warriors. He was also renowned for his skill with a spear, and was said to be invulnerable to all weapons except for the lightning bolt of Zeus.
