The War of 1812 was a conflict between the United States and the United Kingdom that lasted from 1812 to 1815. Two of the locales involved in this war were Erie and Lake Erie. Erie is a city located in northwestern Pennsylvania, on the south shore of Lake Erie. Lake Erie is the fourth largest of the five Great Lakes of North America, and it borders the U.S. states of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.
