The term TYPE OF FIGURE-SKATING JUMP is a Salchow, which is a seven letter jump in figure skating. It is named after its inventor, the Swedish figure skater Ulrich Salchow, who first performed it in 1909. The Salchow is a jump in which the skater takes off from the back inside edge of one foot and lands on the back outside edge of the opposite foot. It is considered to be one of the most difficult jumps in figure skating.
