A switchboard operator, also known as a TELEPHONIST, is a person who operates a switchboard to connect telephone calls. They are responsible for connecting incoming and outgoing calls, providing information, and responding to emergency calls. Switchboard operators must have excellent communication skills and be able to multitask in order to handle multiple calls at once. They must also be familiar with the local area and have knowledge of the services offered by the company they work for.
