The Swiss-born artist is Paul Klee, a painter and graphic artist who was born in Switzerland in 1879. He was a student of German art theorist and educator Franz von Stuck, and his works were heavily influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He is best known for his abstract and whimsical paintings, which often featured bright colors and geometric shapes. He died in 1940 in Switzerland.
