Suppressing emotions is a common coping mechanism used to manage difficult feelings. Burying one's emotions, or 'BURY' (4 letters), is a way of pushing them down and out of conscious thought. Keeping them in, or 'keepin' (6 letters), is another way of suppressing emotions, by not allowing them to be expressed outwardly. Both of these strategies are forms of suppression, as emotions are not being fully processed or expressed.
