Christopher REEVE was an American actor best known for his portrayal of the iconic superhero Superman in four films from 1978 to 1987. He was also a director, producer, and writer. REEVE was born in New York City in 1952 and began his acting career in the 1970s. He won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1978 film Superman. REEVE's career was tragically cut short in 1995 when he was paralyzed from the neck down after a horse-riding accident. Despite his disability, REEVE continued to act and advocate for people with disabilities until his death in 2004.
