Alva Vanderbilt Belmont was an American suffragist, socialite, and a major figure in the early women's rights movement. She was the wife of William Kissam Vanderbilt and later married Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont. She used her wealth and influence to support the cause of women's suffrage and was a leader in the National American Woman Suffrage Association.
