Okapis are striped African animals that are related to giraffes and have long necks and legs. They are native to the tropical rainforests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa, and are the only living members of the family Giraffidae that are not classified as giraffes. Okapis have a reddish-brown coat with white stripes and patches, and their horns are used for defense against predators. They are herbivores and feed on leaves, buds, fruits, and grasses.
