Sportscaster Howard Cosell was an American sports journalist and television personality who was known for his outspoken and controversial style. He was a regular on ABC's Monday Night Football and hosted the popular sports interview show, 'Speaking of Sports'. He was also a commentator for ABC's Wide World of Sports and was the first to use the phrase 'jockocracy' to describe the power of athletes in the sports world. Cosell was one of the most recognizable figures in sports broadcasting and was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame in 1984.
