Speedskater Bonnie BLAIR is an American former speedskater who won five gold medals and one bronze medal in the Winter Olympics. She is one of the most decorated athletes in Olympic history. Her first gold medal was won in 1988 in the 500-meter speedskating event, and she went on to win four more gold medals in 1992, 1994, and 1998. She also won a bronze medal in the 1000-meter speedskating event in 1998. BLAIR retired from competitive speedskating in 2001 and was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 2004.
