The Speaker of Cooperstown is Tris Speaker, a Hall of Fame baseball player who played for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians from 1907 to 1928. He was known for his hitting ability and defensive prowess, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937. He was also the first player to hit over 400 doubles in a career. Speaker was nicknamed 'The Grey Eagle' due to his grey eyes and bald head. He was the Speaker of Cooperstown from 1934 to 1935.
