The Spanish province capital of Oviedo is a city located in the northern region of Asturias. It is the capital of the Principality of Asturias and has a population of around 225, 000 people. Oviedo is known for its historical monuments, including the Cathedral of San Salvador, the Church of San Miguel de Lillo, and the Palace of Santa María del Naranco. It is also home to the University of Oviedo, which was founded in 1574.
