A spacewalk, also known as an Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA), is a mission conducted by astronauts outside of a spacecraft while in space. At NASA, spacewalks are conducted to perform maintenance and repairs on the International Space Station, or to test new equipment. Spacewalks are a risky endeavor, as astronauts must wear specialized suits to protect them from the extreme temperatures and lack of oxygen in space.
