The Soviet News Bureau, also known as TASS (Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union), was a state-run news agency in the Soviet Union. It was established in 1925 and served as the official news agency of the Soviet Union until 1991. TASS was responsible for providing news and information to the Soviet public, as well as to foreign countries. It was also responsible for disseminating propaganda and other government-approved information.
