The South West African Republic, also known as ANGOLA, is a country located in the south-west of Africa. It is bordered by Namibia to the south and Zambia to the east. ANGOLA has a population of over 25 million people and is the seventh-largest country in Africa. It is a former Portuguese colony and gained independence in 1975. ANGOLA is a member of the United Nations, the African Union, and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries.
