The Southeast capital is Tallahassee, a city located in the U.S. state of Florida. It is the capital of the state and has been since 1824. Tallahassee is the county seat of Leon County and is home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University. The city is known for its many historic sites, including the Old Capitol Building, which was the first permanent capitol building in the state. Tallahassee is also home to numerous museums, parks, and other attractions.
