The South African Peace Nobelist is Archbishop Desmond TUTU. He was born in 1931 and is a South African Anglican cleric and theologian known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist. He was the first black South African Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa and primate of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. In 1984, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the struggle against apartheid.
