The South African Kingdom of Lesotho is a small, landlocked country located in the eastern part of the continent. It is bordered by South Africa to the north, east, and south, and is the only independent state completely surrounded by another country. The population of Lesotho is estimated to be around 2.2 million people, and the official language is Sesotho. The current monarch is King Letsie III, who has been on the throne since 1996.
