SONAR stands for Sound Navigation and Ranging, and is a technique used to detect objects underwater. It works by sending sound waves out into the water and then measuring the time it takes for the sound waves to bounce back off of an object. This information can then be used to determine the location and size of the object. SONAR is commonly used by ships and submarines to detect other vessels, as well as by marine biologists to study ocean life.
