Songwriter Sammy Cahn was an American lyricist, composer, and musician who wrote hundreds of songs for films, television, and theater. He won four Academy Awards for Best Original Song and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972. Cahn was also a member of the National Academy of Popular Music and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He is best known for his collaborations with composers such as Jule Styne and Jimmy Van Heusen.
