Lou Reed was an American singer-songwriter, musician, and poet. He was a major figure in the New York City punk rock scene during the 1970s and was one of the founding members of the Velvet Underground. He released several solo albums throughout his career, including Transformer, Berlin, and Magic and Loss. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
