Cole Porter was an American composer and songwriter from the early 20th century. He is best known for his witty, sophisticated lyrics and musical compositions. He wrote over 1, 000 songs, including such classics as 'Night and Day, ' 'I Get a Kick Out of You, ' and 'Anything Goes.' He also wrote the musicals Anything Goes, Kiss Me, Kate, and Can-Can.
