Lorenz Hart was an American lyricist and songwriter who collaborated with composer Richard Rodgers to create some of the most popular songs of the 20th century. He wrote the lyrics for over 800 songs, including such classics as 'My Funny Valentine, ' 'Blue Moon, ' and 'The Lady Is a Tramp.' Hart's witty, sophisticated lyrics were often filled with double entendres and clever wordplay. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1971.
