Eydie Gorme was a popular American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was known as the 'Songstress' for her powerful and emotive vocal performances. Gorme was born in New York City in 1928 and began her career in the 1950s. She had a successful solo career and also performed with her husband, Steve Lawrence, as a duo. Gorme won a Grammy Award in 1968 for her album 'Eydie Gorme Sings the Blues'. She continued to perform until her death in 2013.
