The term 'Slaughter of Cooperstown' refers to an event that occurred in 1779 during the American Revolutionary War. Enos was a Continental Army soldier who was part of the militia that was sent to Cooperstown, New York to protect the town from British forces. Unfortunately, the militia was outnumbered and outgunned, and the British forces were able to capture the town and massacre the militia. Enos was one of the few survivors of the massacre.
