Moshe DAYAN was an Israeli military leader and politician who played a major role in the Six-Day War of 1967. He was a hero to many Israelis for his leadership during the war, which resulted in a decisive victory for Israel. DAYAN was a highly decorated soldier and served as Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces from 1953 to 1958. He also held several ministerial posts in the Israeli government, including Minister of Defense.
