Sita, the wife of Rama, is a major character in the Hindu epic Ramayana. She is known for her devotion to her husband and her strength of character. Rama is the central figure of the Ramayana and is the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu. He is the son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya of Ayodhya. Sita is the daughter of King Janaka of Videha and is the incarnation of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and fortune.
