Selma Bouvier is the sister of Marge Simpson, a main character in the long-running animated television series The Simpsons. Selma is voiced by actress Julie Kavner and first appeared on television in the episode 'Selma's Choice' which aired in 1993. She is an unmarried, chain-smoking woman who works at the DMV and is often seen with her twin sister Patty. Selma is known for her unsuccessful attempts to find a husband and her love of cats.
