The AMES family is a singing family name. They are best known for their popular 1950s and 1960s hits, such as 'The End of the World' and 'Rag Mop'. The group was founded by brothers Jim and Gene AMES in 1945 and was originally called the AMES Brothers. The group had four members, all of whom were brothers: Joe, Gene, Vic, and Ed. They had several top 10 hits in the US and UK, and were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998.
