Her second studio album, The Pains of Growing (2018), was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Irene Cara is an American singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. She is best known for her Academy Award-winning song 'FAME' (1980) and her role as Coco Hernandez in the film version of the musical FAME (1980). She also had a number of other hits, including 'Flashdance...What a Feeling' (1983).
