Short-lived particles are subatomic particles that exist for a very short period of time before decaying. The two most common short-lived particles are the pion (4 letters) and the muon (4 letters). Pions are composed of a quark and an antiquark, while muons are leptons that are similar to electrons but much more massive. Both particles have a very short lifetime, typically measured in nanoseconds or picoseconds.
