It is easily identified by its long, scythe-like tail which can be as long as the rest of its body. The Thresher Shark is a large species, growing up to 6 meters in length and weighing up to 500 kilograms. It is an apex predator, feeding on a variety of fish, squid, and crustaceans. It is also known for its acrobatic leaps out of the water, which it uses to stun its prey.
