Sexism is a form of discrimination based on gender, and is often expressed through INTOLERANCE, PREJUDICE, and BIGOTRY. INTOLERANCE is an unwillingness to accept views, beliefs, or behaviors that differ from one's own, while PREJUDICE is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed without adequate knowledge or thought. BIGOTRY is an obstinate and irrational attachment to a particular belief or opinion. Together, these three terms describe the negative attitudes and behaviors that are associated with sexism.
