A segment of cricket is known as an inning. An inning is a period of play in a game of cricket, during which one team bats and the other team bowls and fields. It usually consists of six to eight overs, depending on the type of match being played. During an inning, the batting team attempts to score runs while the fielding team attempts to restrict the batting team from scoring runs and dismiss them. The team with the most runs at the end of the inning is declared the winner.
