Scrolls are ancient documents written on parchment or papyrus. Papyri is a plural form of papyrus, which is a material made from the pith of the papyrus plant, used in ancient times for writing documents. The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of ancient Jewish religious manuscripts found in the Qumran Caves near the Dead Sea. They are believed to have been written between the 3rd century BCE and the 1st century CE. The scrolls contain some of the oldest known versions of biblical texts.
