Frederik Pohl was an American science fiction writer, editor, and fan. He was a prolific author, having written more than 40 novels and over 100 short stories. He won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards for his work. Pohl was also a founding member of the Science Fiction Writers of America and served as its president from 1971 to 1973. He was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 1998.
