Scarlett O'Hara's home is the fictional plantation Tara, located in Clayton County, Georgia. Tara is the main setting of Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel Gone with the Wind and its 1939 film adaptation. The plantation is owned by Scarlett's father, Gerald O'Hara, and is the center of the O'Hara family's life. It is also the site of many of the novel's most dramatic scenes, including the burning of Atlanta and the death of Scarlett's beloved mother.
