Al COHN was an American jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, and bandleader. He was a major figure in the post-World War II jazz scene, and was one of the most influential saxophonists of the bebop era. COHN was known for his sophisticated harmonic knowledge and skillful soloing. He was also a prolific composer, writing over 200 compositions. He worked with many of the greats of jazz, including Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, and Stan Getz.
