The San Diego Squad is the nickname for the professional American football team based in San Diego, California, known as the Los Angeles CHARGERS. The CHARGERS compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1959 and has been playing in the NFL since 1960. The CHARGERS have won one Super Bowl championship and have made nine appearances in the playoffs.
